Gautam joined Cisco’s Corporate Development group in 2003 and currently leads the teams responsible for the Video and Collaboration businesses. He also covers other sectors including advanced advertising, media & entertainment, and next-gen home services and has driven efforts around core service provider networking, consumer, and optical in the past as Cisco evolved from the edge of the network and into the home.

Gautam has also had a broad range of experiences at Cisco that span numerous investments and exits representing Cisco in most instances, a number of acquisitions and strategy efforts that recently resulted in the recent acquisitions of NDS, Sourcefire, BNI Video and ClearAccess, and the creation of Cisco’s divestment process following driving the sale of its Juarez facility and Linksys division. Prior to joining Cisco, Gautam was at McKinsey & Co. in its technology practice.

Gautam received a Masters of Science in Management Science & Engineering and a Bachelors of Science in Mathematical & Computational Science from Stanford University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
