Melissa Singh, Ph.D., first joined Fannin Innovation Studio as an intern, became the inaugural fellow, and is now a principal where she leads several therapeutics portfolio companies and continues to develop the fellowship program at Fannin. She earned her BS in Chemistry at the University of Maryland in College Park (2001) and her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in Houston (2008). Prior to joining Fannin, Melissa was a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Fellow at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center where her research focused on the discovery of novel therapeutic strategies for patients with glioblastoma. She also received the Bristol-Myers Squibb Award for Postgraduate Clinical/Translational Research and the Ben F. Love Endowed Fellowship in Innovative Cancer Therapies for her research in glioblastoma.
