Mark is a Founding member and the current President of Capital Community Angel Investors, a mid-Michigan based angel investment group formed in 2007, focused on Seed and Series A investments for qualifying startups in the Michigan market. He has also been a member of the Michigan Angel Fund (I, II and III) and active in supporting entrepreneurial and start up activities for much of his professional career. In addition to work in the Angel space, Mark has served over 40 years as a tax partner in public accounting, plus service as a board of director with for profit and not for profit entity boards. His experience includes transaction work, compensation taxation, corporate governance and succession planning.

His volunteer duties have included leadership service as Board Chair or President of the Capital Region Community Foundation, Ele’s Place, the Haslett-Okemos Rotary Club, the Rotary Club of Lansing, the Rotary Club of Lansing Foundation, the advisory boards for Michigan State University’s Wharton Center, Department of Accounting and Information Systems, and the Broad College of Business Alumni Board. In addition, he has served as a board member or treasurer on numerous other community organization’s boards or committees.
