Health Insight Capital, a subsidiary of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), makes equity investments in early stage companies that are selected to provide innovative solutions for use in HCA’s operations. HCA is targeting $10 million a year in venture capital investments with a focus on concepts that can be deployed in its hospitals to improve quality and efficiency and reduce costs. Health Insight Capital invested in urgent care chain CareSpot and health care IT firm InterMedHx. Other investments include the mobile medical device firm AirStrip Technologies, Nasolux, a medical device firm focused on preventing hospital-acquired infections, and InvivoLink, a Nashville-based healthcare tech firm that tracks and analyzes data from medical device implants to improve implant procedure outcomes like hip and knee replacements.
