Airports: There are two convenient airports to Provo. Most people come in through the large Salt Lake International Airport, but you can travel from selected cities directly to the Provo Airport.
To get to Provo from the Salt Lake International Airport: You can rent a car, take an Uber, or travel via public transportation. To use public transportation, you will want to visit rideuta.com for prices, times, and other details. You will take the Green Line light rail from the airport to Salt Lake City’s North Temple stop, transfer to the Front Runner train there and go to the Orem or Provo Central Station depending on your destination.
To get to downtown Provo from the Provo Airport: You can rent a car, take an Uber, or travel via the 833 bus, which stops about a 10 minute walk from the Hyatt and Marriott Hotels in downtown Provo.
Getting to campus on the day of the event. If you are staying in the Days Inn, SpringHill Suites, or Best Western Plus Provo University Inn, it is about a 20-minute walk. If you are staying in the Hyatt or Marriott downtown, you can take the UVX line (free and frequent) to the Stadium on campus, which is about a 10 or 15-minute walk to the Tanner building.
A few things to be aware of when taking public transportation in Utah. 1. Public transportation does not run on Sundays- use Uber. 2. Public transportation is not a 24-hour service. 3. The public transportation vehicles are safe, clean, and decently comfortable. 4. The Utah Valley Express bus (UVX) is free and frequent, which may be useful for getting from your hotel to campus on the day of the event, particularly if you are staying at the Hyatt or Marriott Hotels in downtown Provo.
Parking at BYU is free on Saturdays.
There are many hotels to choose from, but the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center and the Hyatt Place are centrally located to many eating establishments, activities, and public transportation.
